One of the most interesting presences in Datacenter Forum event will be Uptime Institute, worldwide recognised authority for the creation and administration of the Tier Standards & Certifications for Data Center Design, Construction, and Operational Sustainability. Scott Roots – Business Development Director Uptime Institute EMEA will sustain for the first time in Romania a conference dedicated to “Digitization & the changing shape of data center”, and a workshop named “Data Center Management & Operations Best Practice“.
Uptime Institute created the standard Tier Classification System as a means to effectively evaluate data center infrastructure in terms of a business’ requirements for system availability. The Tier Classification System provides the data center industry with a consistent method to compare typically unique, customised facilities based on expected site infrastructure performance, or uptime. Furthermore, Tiers enables companies to align their data center infrastructure investment with business goals specific to growth and technology strategies.
The Data Center Site Infrastructure Tier Standard: Topology defines the requirements and benefits of four distinct Tier classifications for data center infrastructure. Each Tier aligns with a specific function in the business world and sets the appropriate criteria for power, cooling, maintenance, and capability to withstand a fault. Tiers are progressive; each Tier incorporates the requirements of all the lower Tiers. Additionally, Tiers has been demonstrated as a meaningful industry standard because Tiers allows a variety of solutions, allowing the flexibility to meet both the performance goals and comply with local statutes, codes, and regulations.
DataCenter Forum will present to the local participant’s solutions for the whole operational spectrum, available for both DC services providers, and for the organisations able to administrate their own infrastructure. Participants will have the possibility to evaluate and to discuss directly with specialists in cooling systems, UPS’, fire prevention, security, backup, data & disaster recovery, communication and networking, monitoring and maintenance, and more.
